Finnish Ambassador to Zambia Timo Olkkonen has observed the urgent need to allow the Zambian maize market function without undue interference.
Mr. Olkkonen says he has taken note that maize is a highly political crop in the Country.
He says the maize market should however be allowed to function if Zambia’s Agriculture sector is going to remain sustainable.
Mr. Olkkonen says this is also if it is to benefit farmers especially those rural areas.
He has further observed the need to diversify the Country’s Agriculture by growing more nutritious variety of other crops.
