Send Miti on leave, NDC urges President Lungu

President Edgar Lungu has be urged to fire Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Commander Eric Chimese if it is true he is on forced leave for alleged involvement in corruption.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) wants President Lungu to relieve Lieutenant General Chimese of his duties in order that he can been investigated.

musengeSecretary General Mwenya Musenge says Lieutenant General Chimese should be probed by the Ant-Corruption Commission (ACC) in view of the allegations that have been leveled against him.

Mr. Musenge has also urged President Lungu to place his Principal Private Secretary Simon Miti on forced leave.

He believes that as the then controlling officer at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Miti may have known the alleged dubious activities former Human Resources Director Henry Kapoko was involved in.

Mr. Musenge says Dr. Miti should therefore be suggested to an investigations by law enforcement agencies in order that his name his cleared.

He says this is particularly that Magistrate Exnorbit Zulu, who handled Mr. Kapoko’s case has raised serious concerns on why Dr. Miti was left out in case involving the theft of K6.8 million public funds.
