IDC to set up two US$ 60M fruit processing plants

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has announced intentions of setting up two fruit processing plants at a cost of US$60 million in the Country.

Chief Executive Officer Mateyo Kaluba has disclosed that one fruit processing plant will be set up in Chipata while the other in Solwezi at a total cost of US$30 million each.

Mr. Kaluba says once operational, the IDC will be engaging local farmers in the two areas to supply fruits to plants.

He is optimistic that the two fruit processing plants will not only help create employment but also empower farmers.
