Media consultant Herbert Macha has projected a boom in the growth of television in Zambia.

Mr. Macha has based his projection on the continued number of TV stations being set up following the introduction of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in the Country.

In an interview with Q-News by telephone Mr. Macha says this is a sign that there is a future in television.

Mr. Macha says he has also taken note that there is equally a growth in radio.

He states that his only concern with radio is that the cost of running radio stations in the rural areas has proved to be quite expensive.

Mr. Macha says he has observed that this is what has also affected the performance of community radio stations.

He is suggesting that it should be a government policy to support such struggling in rural areas.
