UBZ President Hector Soondo
United for Better Zambia (UBZ) President Hector Soondo has called on former Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba to consider standing on his party as a presidential candidate for the 2021 general elections.
Recently Democratic Party had asked the former Foreign Affairs Minister to stand on the DP ticket in the 2021 general elections.
Addressing journalists in Lusaka, Mr. Soondo said his party feels that Mr. Kalaba can make a good candidate.
Mr. Soondo also says the registration of his party has come about due to unsatisfactory leadership of the ruling party, Patriotic Front (PF) and its failure of existing opposition political parties to offer credible checks and balances with solutions.
He says there is need for policy direction in the nation saying in a normal functioning democracy citizens expect their president to address the national on policy direction, decision implementation of good governance policies.
He says UBZ will ensure that citizens participate in process of decision making and implementation by good governance principles to help the emerging democracy for citizens.
Meanwhile Mr. Soondo says his party has observed with deep concern the violence escalating in the country perpetuated by youth of existing political party leaders by giving them few coins to make when their families are safe abroad.
