EEP leader Chilufya Tayali
Government has been challenged to explain to the nation what has happened to the Zambia Plus economic recovery programme.
Equity and Economic Party (EEP) President Chilufya Tayali wants government to make an explanation now that it has failed to seal a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Mr. tayali says his party wants to know the indicators that show that the Zambia Plus economic recovery program is being implemented.
He says the EEP wants government to also state whether or not it has set up a sinking fund it said it would create for the purposes of servicing debt owed through issued Eurobonds.
Mr. Tayali states that government should further give details why it has continued to incur budget deficits when it had earlier promised the nation a reduction.
He says his party has also taken note that government has continued borrowing despite having told the nation it would cut down on debt contraction.
Mr. Tayali spoke to QTV News in an interview.
