Chilangwa, Chilufya helps in cleaning Mansa
Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa has observed the need for Luapula Province to reclaim its status of being the cleanest province in the country.
This follows a Nationwide Campaign started by the Republican President Edgar Lungu’s call for a clean Zambia when he flagged off the Nationwide Campaign in Lusaka.
Addressing residents of Mansa after the cleaning exercise in Mansa District, Mr. Chilangwa said Luapula was known to be the cleanest province in the country and thus the need to reclaim it.
Mr. Chilangwa says the province made sure that each household had a toilet and other sanitation facilities to avoid the outbreak of diseases such as Cholera, Diarrhea and dysentery.
And Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya says it is important that people live in clean environments to avoid any possible outbreak of diarrheal diseases.
He stated that cleanliness would translate into a healthy and disease free Community which would translate into a Productive Nation.
Dr. Chitalu, who is also Mansa Central PF Member of Parliament, says statistics are showing that such diseases are reducing because people are living in clean environments.
