ZCID to constitute committee to deal with political violence

The Zambia Center for InterParty Dialogue (ZCID) says it is in the process of constituting a committee to specifically deal with issues of political violence in the country.

ZCID Chairperson Nathan Mulonga tells QTV News that the center is concerned that political violence in the country has persisted despite various stakeholders making efforts to curb the vice.

Mr. Mulonga says there is need to engage political parties engaging in such vices as a way of ensuring that there is political tolerance.

He has wondered why the Electoral Commission of Zambia’s Conflict Management Committees are failing to decisively deal with cases of political violence more during elections.
