Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) Executive Director Mweenge Chimfwembe has asked government to avail the constitution amendment bill to the public in its draft to enable people have input in preparation for its refinement.

Mr. Chimfwembe says availing the Constitution Amendment Bill in its draft form to the public will add legitimacy to the process of amending the constitution.

He tells Q-News that experience has revealed that the constitution can only stand the test of time if its building process is inclusive, hence the need for government to bring stakeholders on board during the process of amendment.

Mr Chimfwembe has stressed that the fact that the constitution is the supreme law of the land, it is therefore imperative that its amendment process is inclusive.

He adds that there is no need to rush the constitution amendment process as it requires enough time.
