Govt Eulogizes Kalumba

vlcsnap-2018-05-18-10h11m00s878Government has eulogized late Lusaka Mayor Wilson Kalumba who has been put to rest at Leopards Hill Memorial park after succumbing to hypertension at the University Teaching Hospital on May 15th, 2018.

Speaking when she led hundreds of mourners in paying their last respects at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Vice President Inonge Wina has described the late Mr Kalumba as an innovative and idealistic person.

She has appealed to Mr.  Kalumba’s family to take care of his children and the property he has left behind.

And Local government minister Vincent Mwale has urged the Lusaka City Council to ride on Mr. Kalumba’s visionary plans in rolling out development.

And Mr. Mwale says his ministry will work with the immigration department to get rid of Chinese nationals and other foreigners who have taken up small businesses which are supposed to be undertaken by indigenous Zambian.

He says this is what the late Mayor wanted before his demise, adding that doing so will be one way of honoring him.

Meanwhile PF secretary general Davies Mwila says the party has lost a comrade who had huge plans for the city of Lusaka.

He says the party remains committed to fostering his developmental agenda.

And Deputy Lusaka Mayor Chilando Chitangala has described the late Mr Kalumba as a workaholic despite the negative social media publicity he received.

And Local government association of Zambia president who is also Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe has described Mr Kalumba as someone who had funny ideas, but was sure of what was supposed to be done to improve service delivery.
