Politicians have hijacked constitutional review process – Saunders

Senior Citizen Dante Saunders has charged that political players have highjacked the constitutional review process.

Mr. Saunders says the suspension of the tabling of the constitutional amendment bill to Parliament as directed by President Edgar Lungu was not necessary.

Mr. Saunders says politicians ought to know that the constitution is not for the minority politicians but the majority Zambians.

He says there are lacunas in the supreme law of the land that needs serious attention saying the people of Zambia deserve better.

Meanwhile, Governance Activist Leslie Chikuse says the directive by the Head of State is progressive.

Mr. Chikuse however feels that the dialogue process should not delay the refinement of the constitution.
