IBA happy with SMS TV levy collection system

Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Director General, Josephine Mapoma says the collection of TV levy across the country is still ongoing and that the Authority is expected to handover the collections to ZNBC on May 14, 2018.

Mrs. Mapoma says IBA will be in receipt of the money for TV levy collection through its newly opened account on 10^th May, 2018 before handing over to ZNBC on May 14.

And Mrs. Mapoma has hailed the Subscriber Management Service (SMS) system through which the collection of the TV levy from people is being done.

She says the system is less labour intensive because of its electronic nature compared to the previous mode of payment where people used to pay TV levy through ZESCO.

Ms. Mapoma however, states that the Authority will establish the effectiveness of collecting the TV levy through the Subscriber Management Services (SMS) system later in May.
