PF condemns threats of violence made by opposition UPND

The ruling Patriotic Front has condemned threats of violence made by opposition UPND Vice President Geoffrey Mwamba, and Mazabuka MP Garry Nkombo in Chilanga district yesterday.

Mr Mwamba is reported to have declared that the Chilanga parliamentary by-election campaign would be Panga for Panga.

PF Media Director Sunday Chanda says such sentiments are uncalled for, and that should there be any violence in Chilanga Constituency, Mr. Mwamba and Nkombo must be held personally responsible.

He says these threats speak to UPND’s violent scheme to unleash its alleged brutal Mapatizya formula in Chilanga District.

He has since called on the Police to be on high alert.

Meanwhile Mr. Chanda has called for clean and violence-free campaigns, urging PF members to exercise maximum restraint even when provoked.
