MNT advises on Constitutional Amendment Bill

The Movement for National Transformation (MNT) is opposed to constitutional amendments that are motivated by the wrong spirit of fixing political opponents.

Party president Daniel Shimunza says the state and government must never impose policies on the citizenry, and populace, without a due diligence of consensus with all stakeholders in everything.

Mr. Shimunza says there is no need for the proposal being advanced by the PF that a presidential candidate must have been a Member of Parliament, the ongoing debate on the nationality of the President, the impeachment motion or using the political parties bill to fix political opponents.

He says the amendment of the Republic Constitution must be in national interest not for fixing political opponents.
