Justice Minister Given Lubinda has clarified that the political parties’ bill will not limit the number of time any candidate should contest presidential elections.

Mr. Lubinda says the political party bill will ensure that there is intraparty democracy within political parties before their candidate should contest in presidential elections.

And Mr. Lubinda has reaffirms governments commitment to refine the republican constitution before the end of the year.

Speaking during the patriotic front’s weekly interactive forum Mr. Lubinda has reaffirmed government’s commitment to protect human rights.

Mr. Lubinda observes that ambiguities and lacunas in the constitution are what are causing conflicts among citizens in the country.

Meanwhile Mr. Lubinda has dispelled assertions that the public order act in its current form only favors the ruling party.

Mr. Lubinda explains that the ruling party was in the 2016 elections denied permits to hold political rallies more than any other political party in the country.

Meanwhile Mr. Lubinda has advised UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema to stop attacking the judiciary as he will need it someday.

He says the opposition leader should not attack the personality of judges whenever he is not happy with them.

He says insulting judges because he doesn’t agree with their ruling is unacceptable.
