The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) has expressed sadness by the allegation that a named pregnant woman was allowed by health practitioners in eastern province to give birth on the bin patch.

Organization Senior Public Relations Officer Terry Musonda says the purported act by the health practitioners is an unethical and unprofessional.

He explains to q-news that by letting the pregnant woman give birth on bin patch, the officer violated the patient’s rights to health services as enshrined in the patient’s charter.

Mr. Musonda has since advised the husband to the named woman to forward their concerns to the relevant health authorities so that matter can be investigated and take appropriate action.
