Zambia is almost being tainted with a brand of buying counterfeit goods with some even going so far as to sell fake water to unknowing residents and organizations.
Fairy Bottling Zambia Limited (FB), the producers of Aquasavana pure mineral water, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mohamed Sahili has reported simuliya trading company, a Chinese company for bottling ‘fake water with Aquasavana labels.
And dr. Sahili has sounded a warning to would be consumers of the Aquasavana mineral water to be on the lookout of counterfeit products which are been flooded on the market by some unscrupulous manufacturing companies.
He says consumers should desist from buying counterfeit Aquasavana mineral water because the quality of the counterfeit products is compromised making it unfit for human consumption.
He further adds that unlike genuine mineral water manufacturing companies, which have the fortune to preserve quality of their products, the unscrupulous companies are not concerned about the health of consumers.
Dr. Sahili has since advised consumers to avoid buying counterfeit mineral water because they deprive the country of the much needed tax.
He explains that consumers need to thoroughly scrutinize the bottle of mineral water in order to ensure that the product they are buying is a non counterfeit.
Dr. Sahili is also calling on the media in the country to partner with genuine mineral water manufacturing companies if they are to clampdown counterfeits product on the market.
