TIZ observes need to amend financial laws, policies

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has noted the urgent need to amend a number of laws and policies in order to strengthen the country’s resource management systems.

The organization has also noted the need to harmonize policies that may not speak to each other in the promotion of financial management system in public offices.

TIZ Executive Director Wesley Chibamba tells QTV News that it is not only the laws that need to be amended, but also institutional structures and other administrative arrangements in order to safeguard public resources.

Mr. Chibamba says there are a number of regulations that need to be changed in order to promote transparency and accountability in the utilization of public funds.
