Energy Expert Chiko Mudenda
Energy Expert Chiko Mudenda says the selling of Indeni Oil Refinery Company in Ndola has been long overdue.
He says government should be concentrating on reducing the high cost of the fuel supply chain.
Mr. Mudenda tells QTV Business News that he has noted that some stakeholders are concentrating on who buys the refinery company saying this is not important, but that the focus should be to reduce the cost of the supply chain.
He points out that the Tanzanian government sold off the Tanzania International Petroleum Reserves Limited (TIPER) when it realized that it was a liability and not a profit making entity.
Mr Mudenda notes that the Zambian government has been pumping a lot of money into Indeni without get the required benefits, thus the need to allow the Private Sector to manage it.
