Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) says there is need to review the current tax burden placed on the people of Zambia.

The organization has also observed that the high taxes being imposed on the people of Zambia have a significant bearing on efforts to reduce poverty in the country.

CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano has told QTV News that Zambians are justified when they complain that the taxes they are paying are high.

He says this is especially that the people are not getting the quality of services from public offices despite paying high taxes.

Mr Nshindano states that high taxes make it difficult to take people out of poverty, thus the need to review the high tax burden on the people.
