The Busoli Royal Establishment under Chieftainess Nkomesha Mukamambo of the Soli people in Chongwe has demanded the sacking or transfer to another district of District Commissioner Frazer Musonda accusing him of disrespect.
Speaking during a meeting convened at Chongwe district council, the Royal Establishment led by its chairperson Senior Headman Maoma accused the District Commission of failing to meet them to discus developmental issues in the area.
They says the district commissioner defied their earlier invitation to discuss matters surrounding the impending construction of a stadium, a hospital and the operations of named mining company in Chongwe, a move they have described as disrespectful.
They further castigated Mr Musonda who was present for asking Chieftainess Nkomesha to allow a named mining company in Chongwe to resume its mining operations , which they say was operating illegally without their consent.
And the district commissioner has apologized to the Busoli Royal Establishment offering to work with the headmen and women in Chongwe in fostering development.
He said he did not mean to disrespect the Chieftainess when he requested that the mining company in question be allowed to continue with its mining activities.
