Governance Activist David Kapoma says there is need for President Edgar Lungu and UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema to put their differences in the past and think about Zambia.

Mr. Kapoma says it will not benefit the two leaders in anyway if they continue on the path of bitterness saying elections are long gone and now is the time to reconcile and foster national peace and unity.

He says the two leaders should learn from Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga who have started the process of reconciliation.

Mr. Kapoma opposes the reliance on the international community to reconcile the politicians in the country saying local leaders can do it without depending on other forces.

He cites the Kenyans two main rivals who have taken it upon themselves to reconcile without depending on other stakeholders.

Mr. Kapoma says the two leaders in Zambia should emulate their Kenyan counterparts who have demonstrated that Kenya is bigger than them.

Meanwhile, the Governance Activist has advised cabinet ministers to stop fighting each other but rather focus on delivering the much needed development in the country.
