Govt has failed women-UPND

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) says government has failed to identify the problems facing women in the country.

UPND Woman Chairperson Namakau Kabwiku says women expect state managers to remove gender discrimination and attach special attention to issues related to women.

Ms. Kabwiku says women contribute to 30 percent of the national economy while they are facing numerous problems related to employment.

She has observed the need for government to improve the status of women in the country.

Ms. Kabwiku says the issue of women’s employment has not been recognized well by government thus the need to address these issues seriously.
