Govt committed to uplifting welfare of young people

Government has reaffirmed its commitment   towards creating an enabling environment that allows young people to contribute to the development of the nation.

In a speech read on his behalf, by Vice President Inonge Wina during the youth connect and innovators exhibition at government complex in Lusaka, President Edgar Lungu says government will invest in creating opportunities and a supportive environment for innovations and youth entrepreneurship.

The head of state has urged youths to ensure that all development plans encompass the new and innovative   employment opportunities.

He says youths should thrive at revitalizing local economies and contribute to their prosperity.

President Lungu has since challenged the young people to reflect on they can participate actively in solving challenges they are facing such as unemployment.

And the president has called on youths, irrespective of their political affiliation to reach out to their fellow young people who are not yet convinced that violence and politics of insults on social media are not worth embracing.

He says government will support those willing to politics, tribalism , nepotism and corruption aside , to embrace a smart Zambia transformative culture with Christian values.
