Government has been urged to carry out a quick survey in order to ascertain why some mining entities have remained that have held on to titles have remained dormant before they are threatened with cancellation of licenses.

Association President Victor Kalesha has revealed that the association engaged the ministry of mines several times and unfortunately no one had taken interest to visit the entire emerald area to see how their people are trying to make ends meet.

Mr. Kalesha has however urged its members not to panic on the pronouncements by government that it will repose licenses that are dormant.

He tells q-news that the general membership must remain calm as his administrative resolves the matter with the ministry of mines.

And Mr. Kalesha is hopeful that the matter will be addressed in a sober way with government because no government will allow people wasting their hard earned money for nothing.

He however states that the association will not waste time to represent those that blindly got mining licenses and has no use for them but kept their mines dormant for years, unless they have good reasons to be presented them.

Meanwhile Mr. Kalesha says his association is aware that people especially in Lufwanyama emerald area spent even their pension monies to try and mine emeralds but lost it due to the uncertainties in the area of exploration which is very expensive.
