The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) says the National Health Insurance Bill should be supported by subsidiary bills such as the Access to Information Bill for it to be a success.
FODEP executive Director Mweenge Chimfwembe says there is need to support this progressive Bill because it will bridge the gap in accessing quality health services.
He however, notes that without supportive legislations, it will be difficult for most people to access quality health services the national health insurance scheme, it will be difficult for most people to access quality health services.
Mr Chimfwembe says if well implemented, the health insurance scheme will help the country attain universal health coverage.
