Home Affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo

Government has reaffirmed its commitment to modernize the Zambia police service to enhance their effective and efficient operations.

Home affairs minister Steven Kampyongo says government has embarked on a mammoth programme of modernizing operations of the Zambia police service through the procurement of modern equipment and high technology.

And Mr. Kampyongo says police officers will endeavor to deliver efficient and professional service to citizens in the country.

The home affairs minister says police officers are equal to the task to ensure that there is enhanced protection of life and property in the country.

He has since commended police officers for commencing the police in-service training program.

Mr. Kampyongo was speaking during the 2018 commemoration of the Zambia police day under the theme, “police and the community – working together in preventing and combating crime and creating a free and safe environment”
