Governance Activist David Kapoma has called on the government to ensure that firm security measures will be put in place as the government contemplates on printing ballot papers locally for the 2021 general elections.

Mr. Kapoma says he has welcomed the idea of printing ballot papers locally because this is a cost saving measure.

He says the millions of dollars the nation can pay for printing outside including costs for shipping and travel expenses for politicians from PF and the opposition can be used to recapitalize Government Printers.

He says the country loses colossal sums of money in printing ballot papers abroad saying this is the only sure way of saving public funds which can be used for other programs.

Mr. Kapoma tells QTV News reporter Albert Mpezeni that stakeholders ought to support this move because it is well intended.

He says the only thing the government should assure the nation are the technical security matters saying if not well handled, this can lead to electoral conflict.
