Govt accused of ‘watering down’ ATI Bill

Government has been accused of trying to doctor the contents of the Access to Information Bill so that it will not have the necessary teeth to bite.

Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo tells QTV News that it is very clear that the PF Government is looking at possible ways of watering down this piece of legislation.

Mr. Tembo is of the view that there is lack of sincerity on the part of government to enact this legislation.

He says it is worrying that the PF Government has been postponing the tabling of this important piece of legislation in parliament saying this alone shows lack of commitment in enacting this bill.
