DRC’s Kabila arrive in Zambia

Pres.-Lungu-KabilaDemocratic republican of Congo President Joseph Kabila is in the country to discuss trade, border control and refugee situation among others with his counterparty president Edgar Lungu.

Mr. Kabila will hold bilateral talks with President Edgar Lungu.

Special assistant to the president for press and public relations Amos Chanda has told journalists that the two leaders will discuss among other things trade, border control and refugee situation.

Meanwhile Mr. Chanda says the new Minister of Finance Margret Mwanakatwe will focus on fiscal consolidation, pro-poor development and investment in the key drivers of the country’s economy.

Speaking when he interacted with news editors from various media houses in Lusaka, special assistant to the president for press and public relations Amos Chanda says new minister of finance will ensure that budget leakages are sealed up.

And Mr. Chanda has also indicated that president Edgar Lungu has taken major steps to curb control misapplication and misappropriation of funds.

He says the president has elevated key offices within government that deals with controls such as the internal auditor and the accountant general.

Mr. Chanda further states that the head of state has increased interactions between these key institutions.
