Police in Lusaka have recovered assorted household items that were stolen from the members of the public including five vehicles.

Among the items recovered by the police include 14 television sets, 12 laptop bags, 40, assorted mobile phones, 7 wigs, one home theater, photo copier toner, electric iron, 1 fridge and bunch of car keys, 40 GOTV decoders, among other items.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has told journalists in Lusaka that the items were stolen from Chalala area and shopping malls.

Ms. Katongo says most robberies where happening in Chalala and the criminals using masks, and a toy gun that was used in their operations.

She says the police also found knives that were used by criminals when they break in people’s homes and other weapons.

She adds that so far they have arrested 12 criminals, 5 are behind thefts of motor vehicles that were happening at shopping malls, 7 behind the crime levels that were experienced in Chalala.

Ms. Katongo has since warned all the criminals out there, that the police are not going to relent but will make sure that clear off all the criminal minds in the society.
