Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) Leader Sean Tembo has opposed calls to remove the presidential immunity from the republican constitution saying that would leave the ‘presidency’ vulnerable.

Mr. Tembo tells QTV News that the stakeholders championing for this cause are doing it out of ignorance.

He says when the immunity of the president is removed; every person would want to be dragging the president to court.

Mr. Tembo says this would mean that the head of state will be spending a lot of time in court as opposed to working.

He says the current provisions in the constitution are enough where the president if he or she has breached the constitution then parliament can remove his or her immunity and then he is prosecuted.
