Political Scientist Dr. Alex Ng’oma has opposed demands by some stakeholders for the removal of Presidential Immunity from the Republican Constitution.

Dr. Ng’oma tells QTV News via telephone that in an event that the Head of State has breached the constitution; a motion can be moved in parliament to remove the president’s immunity and prosecute him.

He says he has opposed such demands because the president makes challenging decisions that need backing of immunity and thus the need not to remove it from the republican constitution.

Dr. Ng’oma states that it is not in order to demand that the presidential immunity be removed from the constitution permanently saying the nation needs this provision in the constitution.
