Fairy Bottling Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Muhamad Sahili
Aqua Savanna Mineral water has tested negative to Vibrio cholerae, the bacterium that causes Cholera,contrary to rumors that the water was contaminated with fecal matter.
This was after the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) tested the mineral water following the rumor of the water being contaminated.
Briefing journalists in Lusaka, Fairy Bottling Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Muhamad Sahili says after rumors of the water being contaminated, they took it upon themselves to contact the authorities to do an independent test besides having their own labs.
Dr Sahili says as a company they can never compromise the quality of products that they supply on market.
He says the company will continue to provide quality products and strive to be first.
Speaking at the same briefing, Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) Director Manuel Mutale says the bureau is satisfied that most of the products that Fairy Bottling produces has the ZABS quality mark which is a sign of compliance with the standards.
Mr. Mutale says ZABS took Aqua Savanna mineral water samples to be tested and that the results have confirmed compliance with the Zambia Standard (ZS) 388.
