The Movement for National Transformation (MNT) has observed that Zambia lacks economic sovereignty, because it lacks economic craftsmen with first world competitive policy direction, and institutions to craft an advanced dominant economy.

Party President Daniel Shimunza says foreigners will never advance Zambia’s economic interests, but will protect their own vested interests in trade.

Mr. Shimunza has advised government to be conservative in how it disposes off the country’s natural resources to what he has termed as hungry bidders.

He says the Movement for National Transformation once in power will shift the country’s economy to the status of a first world country.

Mr. Shimunza explains that this will be done through aggressive industrialization, promoting home –grown solutions to build an inward looking policy direction, dealing with inequalities, poverty, unemployment and building sustainable first world development through holistic diversification programs, for a multi-faceted economic plan.
