Second dose of oral cholera vaccine to start on Monday

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Administration Dr Kennedy Malama says the ministry will on Monday, 5^th February begin administering the second dose of the oral cholera vaccine.

Dr Malama has since advised all those who received the first dose of the vaccine to carry with them the cards they were given during the first round in order for them to get the second dose of vaccination.

He has advised people not to shun the second vaccination now that cholera cases are reducing, but should go to health centers to receive the second dose.

Dr Malama further advised people against drinking water which has not been boiled or treated simply because they have received the cholera vaccine.
