PROTUZ opposes plans to introduce breathalyzers in schools

Kangwa-MusengaThe Professional Teachers Union of Zambia (PROTUZ) has encouraged teachers to step up efforts by ensuring that they finish this year’s syllabus following the delayed opening of schools.

PROTUZ General Secretary Kangwa Musenga tells QTV News that there is no doubt that the delay in reopening of schools will greatly affect the completion of the syllabus.

He has implored teachers more especially those handling examination classes to work hard so that they finish the syllabus.

Meanwhile, Mr Musenga says PROTUZ is opposed plans by the Teaching Service Commission to introduce breathalyzers in schools as a way to curb rampant drunkenness among teachers.

Mr. Musenga says there are enough regulations which guide the conduct of teachers and that introducing breathalyzers in schools is not a good thing.
