Zambia to participate ITB as convention, cultural partners

Tourism and Arts Minister Charles Banda says Zambia will this year participate at the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) as convention and cultural partners dubbed ‘Taking Zambia with you’.

Mr. Banda says the ITB will be attended by over 10,000 exhibiting companies and 109,000 trade visitors from 184 countries across the world.

He has told a media briefing that government has registered over 20 private sector operators in Zambia who will be exhibiting at the ITB.

He says this will offer an effective business platform, access to global markets and networking with among others experts, the buyers, and young professionals from all areas in the tourism value chain.

Mr. Banda has added that the promotion of tourism in Zambia is a deliberate strategy by government to diversify the economy.

The Tourism Minister says the theme resonates well with the African experiences of taking the peace loving nature of the Zambian people.
