The Human Rights Commission (HRC) has condemned assaults on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters by suspected political rivals at Lusaka Central Police Station yesterday.
In a statement availed to Q News, commission Chairperson Mudford Mwandenga says the commission is deeply concerned at the emerging pattern of violence against NDC Party supporters.
Mr. Mwandenga states that acts of political intolerance should be condemned as they are a violation of human rights, which every democratic country should endeavour to promote and protect.
He says violence against any individual is a criminal act adding that Zambia Police Service should act without fear or favor in ensuring that culprits are brought to book in order to end impunity.
