Police charge Kambwili with three counts

Police in Lusaka have charged National Democratic Congress (NDC) Political Consultant Chishimba Kambwili with three counts.

Mr. Kambwili was arrested and charged for forgery which is contrary to section 342, uttering false documents contrary to section 352 and giving False Information to a public officer contrary to section 125 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

The Roan Member of Parliament was released on police bond and will appear in court soon.

Mr. Kambwili later on told Journalist at his residence after he was released on bond that he is expected to appear in Court on Friday this week.

Mr. Kambwili says the charges that have been slapped on him are trumped up ones.

Meanwhile Mr. Kambwili has commended the Zambia police for showing professionalism in the way they handled the matter.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed to QTV News that Mr. Kambwili has been charged with three counts.
