President Lungu urged to focus on fulfilling his electoral promises

Chungu KachengaYouth Aid Chairperson Chungu Kachenga has challenged government to disclose to the nation where it will get the money to start a national airline which will be a joint venture with Ethiopian airlines where Zambia will 51 percent shares.

Mr. Kachenga wonders where government would get such an amount of money to venture into creating an airline when Zambia doesn’t have money at the moment.

He has told q-news that Zambians need to know because the debts in Zambia have reached at an alarming state.

Mr. Kachenga says the high cost of borrowing which culminates into a high interest in servicing loans remain a major challenge, for businesses especially start-ups.

He says the high cost of borrowing has made Zambia’s business climate is very harsh thus the need for government to refrain from creating an airline.

Meanwhile Mr. Kachenga says President Edgar Lungu should focus on fulfilling his electoral promises, noting that there is more to deserve re-election.

Mr. Kachenga says the patriotic front should not be nursing the hope of a second term in office at this point in time when Zambians are disappointed with its administration.

He feels that it is too early for the patriotic front to start talking about the 2021 election but rather the president should just concentrate on fulfilling on his promises so that he can be re-elected in 2021.

Mr. Kachenga has further urged the patriotic front government to come up with practical resolutions that will see it fulfill its election promises.
