Girl 8 caught by crocodile in Siavonga

A combined team of Marine Police and Department of National Parks and Wildlife officers are searching for the body of an eight year old girl who was caught by a crocodile and dragged into Lake Kariba in Siavonga district.

The incident happened yesterday around 17:00 hours when the girl went to fetch water in the company of her friends.

Siavonga District Commission Lovemore Kanyama who has confirmed the development to Q-News has identified the victim as Loreen Hamiyanza, a grade one pupil at Namumu primary school.
