Tonga writes to the speaker over individuals with offshore accounts

The Third Liberation Movement has written to the Speaker of the National Assembly to consider coming up with a law that will bar all those with offshore accounts from seeking public office.

Party president Enock Tonga told Q news in a walk in interview that offshore accounts are a scheme by some citizens to evade tax, which is a serious crime in some countries, hence the need for government to get concerned.

Mr. Tonga has charged that those with offshore accounts seeking political office are hypocrites who do not mean well for the citizens.
