ZCSD calls for Govt change of attitude towards NGO Act

The Zambia Council for Social Development has called for a change in government’s attitude with regards the review of the NGO Act of 2009.

ZCSD Executive Director Lewis Mwape tells Q-News that Non-Government Organizations have so far completed working on the policy of the NGO Act and that what remains is approval.

Mr. Mwape says once the policy is approved, the NGO’s will begin to work on the repeal process of the NGO Act no. 16 of 2009.

He adds that the new NGO policy should reflect the will of the Civil Society Organizations and that it must be respected.
