ECZ increases number of markers

The Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) has increased the number of examination markers around the country in order to ensure efficiency in the process.

ECZ Director Dr Michael Chilala has said in an interview that the council has trained close to 1, 500 new markers bringing the total in the country to close to 4,000.

Dr Chilala states that with the increase in the number of markers, the making of exams is now being done at provincial level instead of being centralised.

He says the increase in the markers is also in response to the ever increase numbers of GCE candidates.

Dr Chilala has since disclosed that currently,the marking of the scripts for the GCE grade nine exams is going on and very soon the results will be ready.
