Fake G12 certificates by teachers shock teacher unions

Teachers Unions have appealed to government to fire teachers with found with fake papers.

Last week, Teaching Council of Zambia revealed that close to 500 teachers in government-aided schools had forged documents.

Zambia National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) Public Relations Manager Joe Kasaka has called for thorough investigations on how these teachers managed to forge their qualifications before firing them.

Mr. Kasaka thinks that if these teachers are fired without fully investigations the trend will not end hence the need for government to investigate this matter thorough.

He says it is important to know how they acquired the papers from and how they managed to enter into the system with forged documents.

And Secondary School Teachers’ Union of Zambia (SESTUZ), General Secretary Sitibekiso Wamuyuwa has called on the Law enforcers to ensure that they bring to book those found wanting.

Mr. Wamuyuwa says this will help would be offenders in the future as well as avoid the teaching industry to be infuriated with fake teachers.

And National Union for Public and Private Educators of Zambia (NUPPEZ) President Victor Muyumba says teacher with the public and private sectors found with fake papers must be fired.
