Prisoners Activist Evans Bunda has welcomed the Constitutional Court’s recent landmark judgment, allowing remandees and convicts who have appealed their convictions to vote in elections.
Mr Bunda says this will help in the promotion of prisoners’ rights.
He says this is in line with the transformation of the prisons service to Correctional service as enshrined in the amended republican constitution.
Mr. Bunda tells QTV News that Prisoners do not forfeit their fundamental rights upon being sentenced and as such, they should be allowed to take part in elections.
