First year of President Lungu’s 5-year mandate challenging- Ng’oma

Political ANALYST Dr. Alex Ng’oma has described as challenging the first year of President Edgar Lungu’s 5-year mandate.

Dr. Ng’oma says it is challenging in the sense that President Lungu has been in office at time the country politically polarized.

Dr. Ng’oma, who is also a University of Zambia (UNZA) Political Science Lecturer, has however, noted that the President has demonstrated that he is equal to the task during the first year of his term.

He says it is motivating to note that the Head of State has managed to hold the country together during this difficult time.

Speaking in a separate interview, Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD) Executive Director Lewis Mwape has commended President Lungu for bringing down the price of mealie meal, despite the cost of living remaining high.

And CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano says despite the many social and economic challenges, the president has managed to come up with favorable policies aimed at easing the burden on the Zambian people.
