President Edgar Lungu has been called upon to consider making changes to his cabinet for better developmental results.

Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) President Enock Tembo says it is important that the Head of State reshuffles his cabinet as some of the ministers are failing to perform in their respective ministries.

And Mr. Tembo has demanded for the resignation of Finance Minister Felix Mutati for various reasons.

He says his party’s first ground is that the Finance Minister has consistently and deliberately mislead the nation with regard to the total amount of external debt that Zambia owes where he has portrayed a false figure of about $7 billion when the actual and correct figure is in fact about $33 billion.

Mr. Tembo says another ground for demanding the Minister’s resignation is that he has shown gross incompetence and dereliction of duty by failing to keep his promises with regard to the IMF bailout package.

He says the Ministry of Finance is a very sensitive ministry that needs to be managed by a serious and competent person.
