Prisoners Activist Evans Bunda has observed the need for all stakeholders to empower ex prisoners in order for them to reintegrate well into society.

Mr. Bunda, who spent 18 years in prison, has told QTV News in an interview that most ex prisoners are finding it difficult to survive due to lack of empowerment.

Mr. Bunda says government and other stakeholders in the country should come up with empowerment programmes for ex-convicts.

He notes that lack of empowerment and such programmes and the negative attitude towards former inmates has resulted in most of them to go back to their old habits and eventually back in prison.

He says it is for this reason that he is contemplating on forming an organization to deal with the plight of ex inmates so that they are well empowered thereby preventing them from going back to old habits.
